President of The Walden Group, Inc.

Richard S. Cohen is President of The Walden Group, Inc., a merger and acquisition advisory firm specializing in the healthcare industry. He is involved in many nonprofit pursuits: President of Marcia’s Light Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit named after his late wife that fosters grassroots relationship-building among people of diverse backgrounds; advises El Centro Hispano, Inc., an organization that provides a broad spectrum of supportive services for the Hispanic Community (the early childhood program is named after Richard and his late wife); advises Mentoring in Medicine, Inc., a nonprofit that assists disadvantaged minority students in entering healthcare professions; and is on the Board of Muslim Jewish Advisory Council/New York. For many years he chaired Muslim Outreach for American Jewish Committee/Westchester-Fairfield, where, to dissipate stereotypes and distortion and increase knowledge of “the other”, he created and led many inter-cultural gatherings including an annual “We are all Immigrants” Passover dinner. Richard has a B.A. from Cornell University, a J.D. from New York University where he was an editor of the Law Review, and attended the Leonard Stern School of Business at NYU.
