Richard S. Cohen is President of The Walden Group, Inc., a merger and acquisition advisory firm specializing in the healthcare industry. For more than 25 years, he has been identifying synergies between medical technology companies and helping them combine. He is involved in many nonprofit pursuits: President of Marcia’s Light Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit named after his late wife that fosters grassroots relationship-building among people of diverse backgrounds; advises El Centro Hispano, Inc., an organization that provides a broad spectrum of supportive services for the Hispanic Community (the early childhood program is named after Richard and his late wife); advises Mentoring in Medicine, Inc., a nonprofit that assists disadvantaged minority students in entering healthcare professions; and is on the Board of Muslim Jewish Advisory Council/New York. For many years he chaired Muslim Outreach for American Jewish Committee/Westchester-Fairfield, where, to dissipate stereotypes and distortion and increase knowledge of “the other”, he created and led many inter-cultural gatherings including an annual “We are all Immigrants” Passover dinner. Richard has a B.A. from Cornell University, a J.D. from New York University where he was an editor of the Law Review, and attended the Leonard Stern School of Business at NYU.
